I did all that stuff and still download a 5 Kb html file

I can't download the Login Form, but I have my username and password set up in the Login configuration menu. So I'm basically stuck on the last step "Prior to download select 'Log Into WebSite'"

Well, upon few crashes I have to admit - I've been quite short tempered about that downloader. What I do at present is to enter login into browser. Then pause started download and transfer link to downloader. Before resuming the link the password and login info has to be refreshened at context menu inside downloader window. I'm not proud of it. At least it's working.

just a quick help if your gettin 5kb downloads this usally means the file not longer alive its dead or been deleted.

it also means that you are downloading a file directly without being logged in.... moron

Simplest Solution

Using Internet Explorer login to
https//ssl.rapidsahre.com/cgi-bin.premiumzone.cgi?
with ur premium id and password

configure rapidshare to send direct links
(Options-> Tick Direct-downloads and select ur mirrors)

Then set Getright to accept cookies from the web browser
(Internet->Login->Cookies, tick "Use Cookies from your web browser)

Thats it.........now just copy rapidshare links to getright and it will download

i am using GetRight 6.3b and it works just fine for me.

my friend, i don't know why it didn't work for u.........but let me explainn how it works......

when u login to https//ssl.rapidsahre.com/cgi-bin.premiumzone.cgi? with ur premium id, rapidshare sets a cookie on ur computer.

Now u can configure getright to use this cookie whenever it downloads from rapidshare.

It is also important to configure rapidshare to send direct links instead of sending a web page asking u to select a mirror.


Now let me explain the communication process between ur computer and rapidshare.com.

Ok, please bare with my explanations thanks to nikobit above I am able to control my rapidshare premium d/ls as well through Getright & flashgot combo (using firefox).

So ingredients needed:

Firefox (i'm using latest version--Firefox/2.0.0.11)

Flashgot extension for firefox (using latest version---V. 0.7.1)

Getright (i'm using pro version V-6.3c)


Ok now for the preparation:

First install flashgot & firefox if you haven't already got them & of course install Getright too

Now note down your Rapidshare login & password information--you will need this later

Method to get it working:

Make sure to click on getright configuration-->
then click on subheading INTERNET--->
then click on subheading LOGIN---->

NOW you should see 3 subheading options under LOGIN:
FTP & BASIC
WEB PAGE
COOKIES

(NOTE****) many people may have checked other forms & messed around in the 'WEB PAGE' subheading.

FIRST MAKE SURE THAT ALL ENTRIES IN WEB PAGE (if there are any) are deleted
ALSO IF YOU HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO COOKIES---Then TAKE IT BACK TO DEFAULT


Default settings for cookies subheading:
(My default shows that the first two are checked ---'use cookies from your web browser' & 'directly accept & send cookies' and the last entry: clear all getright cookies whenever getright closes is UNCHECKED)

NOW that you are done checking that

GO to the first subheading : FTP & BASIC
you should see 3 fields:
1) server/path
2) username
3) password

MAKE SURE TO LEAVE SERVER/PATH field EMPTY
NOW ENTER YOUR RAPIDSHARE USERNAME where it says USERNAME
ENTER YOUR RAPIDSHARE PASSWORD where it says PASSWORD

make sure to hit add & you will see it in the box above.

Leave the box below (try anonymous download before checking list for username/password) UNCHECKED

Ok...now you can right click on any link you see and d/l it using the option flashgot link and after getright starts d/l it you will see options on how to interpret the file and one of the options is login as a web page.

**NOTE** it seems you only need to do this once because I cannot seem to bring it up again so just look out for the option the first time and click on it to be set up for the rest of the downloads.


****BONUS ROUND FOR EXTRA FUN*******

Also---if you really want to get savvy about it go to FLASHGOT OPTIONS and then click on 'more options'
then go to the downloads tab -->
add your fav & commonly d/l file extensions to the list where it says file extensions
the best eg would be rar which would pick up links for .rar

You can click apply file extensions to batch downloads too

and then in the future when you come up on a page with multiple links for eg a rapidshare folder with multiple links in it

then you can
right click in firefox page---click flashgot all

and you should enjoy batch downloading of only those elements that you filtered in the downloads tab!

More Flashgot fun!

Once you've got everything working (see post above)
the fun is simply setting up

a) a filter list via flashgot options--so you dont d/l useless elements/links (html etc)

b)highlight the area mentioning the links as if you were going to copy & paste the text


c) right click--> Then click flashgot selection

c) VIOLA! check your getright you should have every link ready to go in Getright and you can click automatic and forget about the rest...

First of all, I had a great experience with MEGAUPLOAD and the MEGAUPLOAD manager; I could have this manager import 100+ links at once, verify their existence in one instant, and download them all immediately with one click of a button....however, there are not that many MEGAUPLOAD files as there exist RAPIDSHARE files...so since 3 days I switched to the other side.

Okay, I use Flashget since 2 days together with Flashgot integrated into Mozilla Firefox, and I have a premium account at Rapidshare (set to: "Direct Downloads" of course).

I was getting those 5kb files as well (continuously); after many hours I could not get it to work and most of the suggestions posted here, well call me a moron but maybe I did not have the patience to understand all of them (found them too technical and complicated; I tried some of them nonetheless.

Flashget/Flashgot did not provide any problems when I clicked ONE BY ONE on all the rapidshare.com links which were posted on websites, and which I wanted to download. Flashgot/Flashget worked perfectly and downloaded the full target files.

The problem however ocurred when I wanted to SAVE MULTIPLE Rapidshare links which I wanted to download and IMPORT them ALL in one shot into Flashget manager. Flashget subsequently only got those darn 5kb files and it didn't mean that the links did not exist anymore...

So I went back to the rapidshare.com website and verified their existence with the LINK CHECKER tool. I then noted that all the target websites of my links now included a new server address, i.e. when the orignal link was "http://rapidshare.com/littleredridinghood.rar" for example, the LINK CHECKER tool gave another address, such as: "http://rs129.rapidshare.com/littleredridinghood.rar". The new information in the server address is thus: "RS129", and there exist many different parameters for each different file.

I subsequently deviced a programming tool which would allow me to quickly change each "original" rapidshare.com target link to the new one which includes the specific "RS"-server.
After this tool has created the new links for me, I can save all links to ONE single TEXT file, and subsequently have FLASHGET import it, and downloading all the files without any further problems. I can now download multiple links from rapidshare in one instant.
